A Local Business Bottleneck That’s Killing Your sales - Part 2
As business owners our core job is to solve problems. And problems never stop.
There's alwaaays something to fix. Things are blowing up all around you and employees are coming to you with more problems and less solutions.
But some of these issues aren't very obvious, and this particular one could be costing you sales big time. In this short article I will tell you how to easily blast through this obstacle and stay on track.
The Number One Most Important Thing In Business
“I have met the enemy, he is us”
-Commandant Oliver Perry
The main reason why companies lose big on sales is their own doing (lack there of in this case) is because their follow up time.
When someone responds to an article you wrote, an ad you’ve made, or filled out a form - you only have a smaaaall window to catch them.
I’ve seen clients make this mistake alllllll the time. They spend so much effort on their marketing and then they take 3 days to follow up with customers…
Too late! It's dead. The deal fell through. It’s almost like they’re afraid of money.
Might sound silly but it happens very often.
We call this window “the research phase” and it’s the perfect time to catch your prospect. Even if they aren’t ready to buy now your company is still most likely to be the first one they'll get back to later.
Get back within 3 hours preferably. 24 at most, but 3 days? Come oooooon now.
Speed Solves Everything
Whenever you sense a bottleneck like down on sales, less feedback on social media, less customers walking through the door, the solution is simple…
Just start doing things.
Seriously,
When talking to business owners I sometimes ask —
“So, what got you over the hump? What happened that got you on the map?”
Can you guess?...
Everything!
Revise marketing, more ads, more calls, answer calls quickly, fast follow-ups. More everything. Whatever you were doing, double it.
Overwhelming action fixes all problems. Only “issue” is you wouldn't know what specifically solved a particular problem.
You’ll have time to analyze that after, but now…
Just start doing things.
An “OK” plan today is better than a bulletproof plan tomorrow.
